Lincoln Grove Park, located directly south of the community, offers another two acres of green space for neighbors to enjoy. City efforts to transform the north side of Madison into a gateway into the city have made Cherokee Garden an even more desirable place to live. What Does the Neighborhood Look Like?
Cherokee Garden condominiums were developed on 45 acres of land just south of Cherokee Marsh and Cherokee Lake in the 1980s and 1990s. Over the years, close proximity to Cherokee Golf Course, natural areas and all the amenities of Madison’s north side has made Cherokee Garden a hit among retirees. Neighbors enjoy bright, spacious and well-maintained condominiums and grounds. In-unit laundry, underground parking and indoor pools are among the amenities that Cherokee Garden neighbors enjoy.
What’s Going on Nearby?
The north side is home to some of Madison’s largest employers, as well as the Dane County Regional Airport and the Madison Mallards semi-professional baseball team. Warner Park, which is home to the Madison Mallards, is just minutes from Cherokee Garden. Commercial areas are also nearby. The East Washington Avenue commercial corridor is just miles from Cherokee Park, and East Towne Mall, one of the region’s most popular retail destinations, is about seven miles east of the neighborhood. Major traffic arterials located near Cherokee Garden simplify the commute to surrounding areas, too. Downtown Madison is about seven miles south, Sun Prairie is about 10 miles northeast, Waunakee is about seven miles northwest and Middleton is about 11 miles west of Cherokee Garden.
