Top Madison Breweries to Try in 2023 – Part 2

There are many great breweries throughout the Madison area. If you’re looking for a great place to try a new beer in the area, our list continues below. Make sure to read Part 1, as well.

Karben4 Brewing

The Karben4 Brewpub, located in a commercial business park not too far from downtown, provides an extensive selection of craft beers as well as table service for those interested. I visited on a Saturday afternoon during lunch service hours and the staff was more than accommodating in accommodating my party of two for post-work beers and snacks.

Their beer list boasts both small batch offerings from local favorites to international imports as well as an impressive wine selection - I can vouch for their outstanding chardonnay being among my favorites ever tried so far! They currently operate out of two locations and business is open seven days a week!

Starkweather Brewing Company

Starkweather Brewing Company will debut this January in the former Next Door Brewing Company location at 2439 Atwood Ave, featuring beer styles such as American Pale Ale, Belgian Tripel, Belgian White Ale, and more on 17 tap lines. Owners Tom McVary, Michael Chronister, Tom Gosse, and brewer Peter Schroder hope to create something delicious on this 17-tap line system!

Giant Jones Brewery

Giant Jones Brewing was established by Jessica and Erika Jones as Madison's first certified organic brewery in 2018. With its convenient east-side location near Hilldale Mall, this is an excellent spot to grab a quick pint after shopping! This cozy taproom offers several beers on tap and offers a selection of canned beers that are ideal for later in the day.

Their flagship offerings are their flagship brews along with other special selections of various strengths and flavors. At their bar, guests can enjoy an impressive bourbon barrel-aged collection from their small selection. There's also no shortage of top breweries to select from here and all are family-friendly so no worries about bringing children along for the ride!

Lone Girl Brewery

Lone Girl Brewery is a new craft brewery, brewpub, and family-friendly restaurant situated just minutes from Madison. Offering delicious beer and other drinks as well as space for hosting private and company events. Lone Girl's atmosphere makes for fun experiences for couples, groups of friends, or families with young children alike!

An ideal place to begin your visit is at the brewhouse, where you can sample their latest offerings and witness their beer-making process firsthand. Also make time for the tap room, featuring both their beers on tap as well as craft beers from other breweries crafted especially for them, making this an ideal place for enjoying a cold one on sunny afternoons while the food menu provides numerous appetizers and burgers!

SpeaKEEasy Light Light Ale offers the best of both worlds with its blend of citrus hops and malt in a pale straw-colored ale, perfect for refreshing after a long hot day in Madison. It is light in body yet crisp-drinking - ideal when looking to chill off after spending too long outdoors in the heat!

Working Draft Beer Company

Working Draft Beer Company can be found in Madison at 321 Williamson Street and offers its products Monday to Friday 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM and on weekends 12:00 to 6:00 PM, along with beers, ciders, and spirits to its patrons. They make for a relaxing spot to stop while taking in all that Madison has to offer!

Working Draft Beer Company offers exceptional brews and food, and their Pimento Cheese and Biscuits should not be missed! I was particularly fond of their Hindsight Pilsner which stands out among hazy IPA offerings; other favorites of mine from this brewery include Double Dry Hopped Pulp Culture and Blissful Ignorance as well as Doppelbock which will please most palates. Their Brewing Team knows their stuff; their dedication to quality beer production ensures all their customers find something they like here!

Be sure to find your new favorite brewery in Madison this year!
