Market Statistics for Dane County
Today the Wisconsin Realtors Association came out with the latest statistics for number of home sales and median price for areas around Wisconsin. For Dane County (Madison and nearby communities), there were 2199 homes sales (including condos). This is a 28.4% increase from the second quarter of 2009, which was 1712. Clearly the market has improved. This large increase was likely due to two factors, the improving economic conditions in Dane County and the government stimulus of the tax credit. Median home prices have remained stable with only a modest decline of 0.7% to $200,000.
