Enjoying Music on Lake Monona This Summer
You may not realize it, but Madison has a very rich music scene. With plenty of great venues providing concerts all year long, you can catch a great band or musical act no matter the weather.
When the summer rolls around each year, Lake Monona becomes a hot spot for outdoor concerts and live music. Here's a look at what you will find around the lake this summer for live music.
Rooftop concerts at Monona Terrace will be held throughout June and July on Thursdays. In August the rooftop includes Dane Dances!, which is held on Fridays. Tickets are free for both events, but you will need one for the Concerts on the Rooftop.
Gates will open at 5:30pm and the music begins at 7pm. These concerts run through until 9pm. The Den Dances! will feature DJs with all types of music, while the Concerts on the Rooftop will feature many local bands. The seating on the rooftop is limited, especially for the Dane Dances! You'll want to bring a lawn chair or blanket to ensure you have a place to sit. You can find out more about the Concerts on the Rooftop and the Dane Dances! here.
