Independence Day 2020 which was to take place on 4th July was canceled due to Covid-19 restrictions. The annual celebration of nationhood is done every year. The day is a commemoration of the declaration of independence in 1776.

The special day is celebrated through family-friendly activities in Madison, WI. Here are some of the activities you can participate in around Madison, WI on Independence Day.

1. Monona Festival Fireworks

Enjoy a full schedule of events over the weekend with fireworks on July 4th starting around 9:20pm. The festival will be held at Winnequah Park. Another choice for your fireworks enjoyment in the Madison area is the Sun Prairie Fireworks Celebration. The fireworks will be held at Angell Park Speedway along with plenty of other fun for the day. The event starts at 4:30pm on July 4th.

3. waunaboom

Enjoy a full July 4th celebration at Ripp Park. The celebration will run from 2pm to 10:30pm with fireworks happening at dusk. Enjoy plenty of musical entertainment and so much more at the WaunaBoom celebration.

4. The village of Shorewood Hills fireworks

On this day, Covid-19 restrictions will be lifted to celebrate Independence Day. The event will be like the ones that were there before the Covid-19 pandemic. There will be fireworks scheduled at dusk, which is around 9:30 am.

This will be a good way to celebrate the day as over the years fireworks have been used to celebrate patriotism and national prosperity. While the event is still set to take place, modifications will be made just to ensure that spectators are safe from getting infected with the virus.

3”-5” shells will be shot into the air so that everyone gets a clear view even if they are not sitting on the golf course. This means social distance will be maintained and everyone will get to be part of the event. This includes even people who will be spectating outside the golf course.

5. Lights the Isthmus fireworks at Breese Stevens Field

Shorewood Hills is not the only place you can view the fireworks in Wisconsin. The event will be graced by tons of food and bands. Fans will be required to get tickets to watch the performance from the field. Alternatively, they can be enjoying the performance from nearing buildings.

Kids under 12 years will get in for free. There will also be different packages like the all-inclusive tickets whereby the food will be covered.
