The Madison Public Libraries are a great resource for families looking to enjoy events, programs, and plenty of reading. If you just moved to Madison and you're looking for a library, this blog series is for you.
E.D. Locke Public Library (McFarland)
A library with plenty to offer in McFarland, WI, the E.D. Locke Public Library provides services for all ages. They provide book discussion kids, materials for children and young adults, and plenty of audiobook options.
The library offers many programs for every season with book groups for adults and teens. They also offer Toddler Mondays, Preschool Storytime on Tuesdays, Baby & Me Time on Wednesday and Sensory Storytime on Thursdays.
There's a Teen Advisory Board, along with events, such as Murder in the Library. Teens and Tweens can also enjoy book club options and plenty of other events and programs throughout the year.
The E. D. Locke Public Library is located at 5920 Milwaukee Street in McFarland. They are open from 9am to 8pm, Monday through Thursday, from 9am to 5:30pm on Friday and Saturday and from 12pm to 4pm on Sunday.
Fitchburg Public Library
The Fitchburg Public Library isn't just a place to find a book. They offer story times, author visits, technology training, art displays and so much more.

Rosemary Garfoot Public Library (Cross Plains)
The Rosemary Garfoot Public Library offers plenty of services for all ages. They have a bit of a focus on the environment with some gardening programs, as well.
Plenty of storytime options are available and there's a Parent Zone with resources for parents to enjoy. They also offer the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program for younger children.
Teens can enjoy many events throughout the year including Book Clubs and author interviews. Adults can gain access to free job services assistance, along with square-foot and raised bed gardening workshops, morning movies, book clubs, and more.
The Rosemary Garfoot Public Library is located at 2107 Julius Street in Cross Plains. It's open from 9am to 8pm, Monday through Thursday, from 9am to 5pm on Friday, and from 10am to 2pm on Saturday.
