A Guide to the Madison Area Libraries - Part 3 (Monona & Middleton)
Finding a great public library can benefit the entire family. After relocating to Madison, you may be wondering where the best public library for you is found.

Monona Public Library
The Monona Public Library offers a number of great programs for kids, teens, and adults all throughout the year. They provide plenty of reading programs, story time options, and so much more. During the summer, they even offer a Junior Volunteer program.
Children can benefit from many programs and parents can learn how to raise a reader with the Reading Rockets, Reach Out and Read and Scholastic programs offered by the library. They also have the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program and plenty of other options for younger readers.
One of the more unique programs offered at the Monona Public Library is the Paws and Pages Program. This program allows children to read with a dog, which is a registered therapy animal. This has provides children with the ability to relax and read and it's pretty neat they get to read with an animal companion.
Teens can volunteer to help out at the library and they can also enjoy plenty of activities perfect for them. There are both Teen and Tween programs offered at the Monona Public Library. This library is also home to the TEENeSCAPE area, which allows teens to relax and enjoy books, computers, and more.
Adults are not left out, either. There are plenty of adult book clubs and even a Monona History Club. Adults can also enjoy options, such as Seasonal Chef events and Eco-Action Tuesdays.
The Monona Public Library is located at 1000 Nichols Road in Monona. They are open from 9am to 8pm, Monday through Wednesday, from 9am to 6pm on Thursday and Friday, and from 9am to 5pm on Saturday. During the school year, the library is also open from 1pm to 5pm on Sundays.
Middleton Public Library
The Middleton Public Library has some very cool summer programs and plenty of events throughout the year. They offer all kinds of options, such as the National Night Out Event, College Application & Essay Workshops, concepts, and so much more. There are several programs and events perfect for the entire family.
Children can enjoy all kinds of events and programs including Storytime options, such as Big Kids Storytime, Evening Storytime, CI Pediatric Therapy Center Story Time, Little Kids Storytime, and Tiny Tots Storytime. In addition, there are plenty of great reading programs for children of all ages at the Middleton Public Library.
Teens can enjoy events specific to them, such as Rec Room Games, Escape Room events, and a Pizza Taste Test. The library has a Teen Advisory Committee and they offer plenty of programs, such as the Teen Writing Circle and the Teen Summer Volunteer program.
The Middleton Public Library is located at 7425 Hubbard Avenue in Middleton. They are open from 9am to 9pm, Monday through Thursday, from 9am to 6pm on Friday, and from 9am to 5pm on Saturday. During the school year, they are also open from 1pm to 5pm on Sunday.
