I was born in Monroe WI and grew up in Argyle, WI where I spent most of my childhood riding bikes, playing sports, or annoying my parents with my friends. If you are unfamiliar with Argyle, it’s a small town--roughly 800 people--in the very southwest corner of Wisconsin. The year I started eighth grade I transferred to Black Hawk Highschool in South Wayne, WI. It did not take me long to find some lifelong friends there and I’m very thankful for them being so accepting of me.
During high school I was very involved in sports. I played basketball, baseball and football. I was first team all conference in all three. I also competed in math competitions and forensics. I am one of only a few people to win gold each year of high school at state forensics. I also was a two-time second team all conference mathlete and got first team my senior year when I placed second in the entire competition.
I decided to pursue a career in real estate because I have always had an interest in sales positions. I figured out that I am more motivated when my income depends on my output. Real estate is also very competitive. You can tell by my interests in highschool that I am a very competitive person. Competition is something that drives me to be the best version of myself and the mixture of competition and commission is what really drove me to real estate. I also sort of have a fascination with architecture. When I was younger I would always love to watch shows like House Hunters or Extreme Makeover: Home Edition just to see the different houses and the creative ways they were designed and built. Finally the most important reason I got into real estate is the ability to interact and help many different people. I absolutely love meeting new people and learning about them and in real estate that is the biggest part of the job. I can literally just meet new people and talk to them and it is considered working!
I chose Josh Lavik and Associates for many reasons. One of them being Josh’s reputation. When searching for a real estate team to join I took a deep dive into all of the teams’ leading agents and Josh was the one I was the most impressed with. Having an established agent was something I was really looking for because it meant that I could trust that I would be getting good training from someone that has proven it to work. I also thought that I would get a lot more attention and one on one training on a smaller team. Especially on a team as good as this one who will push me to become the best agent I can. What sealed the deal for me was how genuine and caring Julie and Josh were to me during the interview process. They really care about the team and everyone’s success.
